The Funny Farm Rescue Animal Sanctary is home to over 150 animals on a 15 acre privately owned land. There is no entrance fee, but owner Laurie requests everyone to bring a donation of food for the animals or supplies. Many of the animals are in need of medical assistance and the staff and owner constantly provide them with all of their specific needs to survive and thrive. The farm operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is open to the public on Tuesdays and Sundays throughout the year. The animals are friendly and visitors can be hands on with all of the residents.

Mood’s Farm Market is one of my new favorites. It is a small farm with a lot of activities at reasonable prices. Pick-your-own produce begins in June with cherries and ends the season with pumpkins in the Fall. They make fresh apple cider donuts Monday though Saturday and they press their own apple cider in the fall as well. A small market is open where baked goods, canned goods and fresh produce are available to buy. Open Mondays through Saturdays up until Thanksgiving with hours from 8am to 5pm.
