Supertri New Jersey Return to Mercer County Park on July 19
Supertri New Jersey, formerly known as the Challenge New Jersey State Triathlon, arrives at Mercer County Park on Sunday, July 19, marking the first year the iconic New Jersey Triathlon will be owned and operated under Supertri, the global leader in short course triathlon. Long regarded as one of the top triathlons in the United States, the race is celebrated for its lightning-fast, flat course and its ability to welcome athletes of every experience level, from first-timers to seasoned competitors.
Held in the heart of Mercer County Park, Supertri New Jersey delivers a fast, championship‑level race experience highlighted by a sheltered swim in Mercer Lake, a closed‑road bike course widely regarded as one of the fastest on the East Coast, and a flat, spectator‑friendly run through the park. Athletes can choose between Sprint and Olympic distance options for individual or relay competition, each designed to showcase speed and performance. Both courses are known for their flat terrain, calm swim conditions, and fully closed roads, allowing athletes to race confidently at full speed.
In addition to its age‑group and relay racing, Supertri New Jersey will also host a leg of the USA Triathlon Paratriathlon Nationals Qualifier Series, offering paratriathletes and adaptive athletes a dedicated qualifying opportunity on a championship‑level course as part of the pathway to the 2026 USA Triathlon Paratriathlon National Championships.
Designed with accessibility in mind and built to inspire the competitor in everyone, Supertri New Jersey places a strong emphasis on welcoming first‑time athletes into the sport. The event’s free First Timers Program provides a supportive introduction to triathlon, including a beginner‑friendly TriDot training plan, live expert‑led webinars, and access to an online community of fellow first‑time participants. On race weekend, new athletes can take advantage of a beginner‑friendly swim wave, a rack‑together transition area, and on‑site support from coaches and event staff, including an “Ask a Coach” booth. Athletes also have the option to compete as part of a relay team, offering another approachable pathway to experience race day in a team‑based format.
Beyond racing, Supertri New Jersey delivers a complete event experience, capped by a vibrant Finish Line Festival that brings together athletes, families, and spectators in celebration at the heart of Mercer County Park. Open to all, the festival reflects Supertri’s commitment to community, inclusivity, and growing the sport of triathlon.
With decades of racing history behind it and a new chapter beginning under Supertri leadership, Supertri New Jersey continues to stand out as one of the premier triathlon events in the country, now elevated by Supertri’s global vision and athlete-first approach.
