Experience the Power of a Live Symphony at NJPAC
Location: New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), Newark, NJ
Website: NJSymphony.org
Take students beyond the classroom and let them experience the extraordinary sound of a world-class orchestra live in a state-of-the-art acoustic hall. New Jersey Symphony's 1:30 pm Thursday matinees at NJPAC introduce student groups to masterworks by legendary composers including Mozart, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, and more. Instead of simply learning about classical music and its history, students have the opportunity to sit inside the experience and hear centuries of musical tradition come alive around them.
Led by Music Director Xian Zhang, New Jersey Symphony brings exceptional musicianship together with opportunities for deeper learning. At select concerts, teachers can request a complimentary 30-minute Classical Conversations talk or Meet a Musician experience, giving students an insider's perspective on the music, musicians, and careers within a professional orchestra. Groups of 10 or more also receive 20% savings compared with purchasing individual tickets.
⭐ Why Teachers Love It
A New Jersey Symphony field trip combines music, history, culture, and the excitement of live performance in one memorable afternoon. Optional educational experiences can help teachers connect the concert to classroom learning and introduce students to professional musicians and careers in the arts.
