Brunch, Behavior, and Better Listener Responding | Free CEU in Long Branch

Listener responding is foundational. So is brunch.

Join us for a free, in-person CEU in Long Branch where strong stimulus control meets strong coffee, thoughtful discussion, and a Saturday morning that actually feels worth showing up for.

Listener Responding: Strategies to Promote Auditory Stimulus Control
Whitechapel Projects, 15 2nd Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740
Saturday, March 14 | 10 am – 1 pm
FREE | 1.5 Learning Credits
Brunch included
Presented by: Hillary Genovese, MA, BCBA, Director of Services

Listener responding plays a critical role in language development, yet weak auditory stimulus control can quietly undermine progress. In this session, Hillary Genovese, MA, BCBA, Director of Services, will guide participants through strategies to establish stronger discrimination, transfer control across operants, and analyze common errors that interfere with independent responding. Drawing from applied clinical experience and behavioral theory, Hillary will help attendees sharpen their programming decisions and strengthen true stimulus control in practice.

We’ll explore:

• How to build and expand auditory stimulus control
• When simple-to-conditional training may not be sufficient
• Strategies for transferring control from tact and matching repertoires
• The role of joint control and echoic behavior in complex listener responding

Grounded in radical behaviorism and Skinner’s analysis of verbal behavior, this session is practical, applied, and built for clinicians who want cleaner data and stronger programming decisions.

Why You’ll Want to Be There

Because stimulus control errors are subtle.

Because strong listener responding changes everything downstream.

Because learning is better in community.

Because Whitechapel Projects > hotel ballroom.
