Lincoln’s Whistle-Stop Tour Family Program
Celebrate Presidents’ Day and Abraham Lincoln’s birthday at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum. Families will trace the route of Abraham Lincoln’s famous 1861 whistle-stop train journey to Washington, D.C., where he took the presidential oath of office. Using interactive “travel cards,” participants will learn about key moments along the trip, including the roles of 19th-century detective Allan Pinkerton and the first American female private eye, Kate Warne, in protecting the president-elect.
