Imagine will offer Webinar on How to Talk to Kids about Death and Dying on Zoom
“A child can live with anything as long as he or she is told the truth and is allowed to share with loved ones the natural feelings people have when they are suffering.” – Eda Le Shan
At Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss, we often hear from adults in our community who are struggling to find the words to talk to children or teens about death and dying. This need for support when having these difficult conversations with kids inspired us to create an educational webinar that has been Imagine's most popular webinar to date.
The webinar is called: How to Talk to Kids about Death and Dying and will be offered on Thursday, March 13th from 7-8:30 pm. Those attending the webinar will learn to:
- Recognize that grief begins at diagnosis
- Describe how children grieve at different developmental stages
- Develop tools for creating a safe space where children can share their feelings
- Discover ways to navigate conversations about diagnosis, illness and death
If you’d like to join us for this webinar, please visit our www.imaginenj.org/events to register. Once you register, you’ll receive a zoom link to join us on March 13th. Please contact Imagine’s Training and Education Director, Veronica C Ortiz, LPC at veronica@imaginenj.org with any questions.
Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss is a 501c3 that offers grief and loss education and training to the community and free year-round grief support groups for children ages 3-18 and young adults 19-30 who are coping with a loss due to death. Concurrently, support groups are available for the parents and caregivers of the children in the groups and offered in English and Spanish. For more information, please contact Imagine at 908-264-3100 or info@imaginenj.org or visit their website at www.imaginenj.org.
