Juneteenth in Newark

Join us in Newark on Wednesday, June 19, for a full day of events celebrating the significance of Juneteenth — part of the Experience Newark: Local Festivals & Flavors initiative. Start the day at Harriet Tubman Square with Juneteenth Around the Square (details coming soon) and grab coffee or pastries beforehand from nearby favorites like Black Swan Espresso, 2winspastryH&A, or Tonnie’s Minis.

Continue the celebration with lunch at Black-owned eateries such as The Yard and Taste of the Caribbean, then explore Newark’s vibrant entrepreneurial scene with the Black Business Crawl hosted by Newark Symphony Hall. End the evening with Karaoke on Halsey – R&B Edition, a high-energy night of music and community.
