NJ Vietnam Era Museum hosts Vietnam Ghost Ship: A Conversation with Art and Lee Beltrone at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial and Vietnam Era Museum (1 Memorial Ln, Holmdel, NJ 07733)
Decommissioned in 1968 after making one final voyage to Vietnam, the troopship USNS General Nelson M. Walker was rediscovered in the 1990s, packed with haunting reminders of the soldiers and Marines who marked the days on their journey to war. Join the New Jersey Vietnam Era Museum in-person or virtually for a conversation led by New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation Interim Director and Curator Mike Thornton with Art Beltrone and Lee Beltrone about the discovery, recovery, and legacy of this storied troopship. This is a chance to go behind the scenes of the There & Back: The Journey to Vietnam and Home exhibition before it closes on March 15!
