Today is National United Nations Day. Did you know that the term ‘United Nations’ was first coined on January 1, 1942 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt when representatives of 26 nations pledged to continue to fight together against the Axis powers during World War Two?  In 1945, representatives of 50 countries formally met to draw up the United Nations Charter. This charter was voted on and ratified on October 24, 1945.
