Reopening and Enrolling Now!
The Lightbridge Academy of Westfield is back in their center welcoming all Westfield families. They are scheduling virtual, weekend and evening tours to let families learn about the Lightbridge Promise! Now accepting enrollments for the school year 2020-2021, you can schedule a tour of their building and ask about their facility, the curriculum, the staff, or just say hello. They look forward to meeting you and your precious little one, and are here to support you and your family.
Their new building (opened at the beginning of 2015) employs state of the art technologies such as biometric finger scanning entry, white board technology, Tadpoles communication medium, iPad Tables for your child's use, and ParentView® Internet Monitoring. It’s a beautiful new building that is clean and spacious.
Lightbridge Academy is ...The Solution for Working Parents®!
As the solution for working parents, they offer a FULL DAY program for children 6 weeks through 5 years, including full day Kindergarten. The center is opened Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 6:30. Their extended hours begin with drop off as early as 7am and as late as 6:30pm.
Ask about their seedlings curriculum!
Children thrive and develop in different ways so it is their goal to cultivate a stimulating environment that expands their innate abilities through various learning areas. Each classroom is designed with learning centers to offer children the ability to engage in teacher-led activities, child-led interests and individual play. The seedlings curriculum offers a seven learning domain integrated curriculum that consists of:
- mathematics & science
- creative arts & music
- language & literacy
- social & emotional
- physical & well-being
They believe that each domain is equally important to a child’s growth and academic success.
Meet the staff!
Sue Romano, center owner and mother of a teenager likes to think that her staff is an extension of your very own family. “We are true partners in your child’s early education and development". Together the staff has years of experience in teaching and childcare, as well as first hand knowledge of working with children. Diane Romond, the Center Director is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University holding a BA in Psychology, Master of Arts in Teaching and a K-5 NJ State Teaching Certificate. Ms. Romond has been a childcare director for the past 10 years and lives locally with her husband and 4 year old son Jaxson. Kim Weitzel is the Assistant Director and has her Bachelors in Family Science and Human Development and a minor in Child Advocacy from Montclair State University. She has two years experience in childcare and administrative work, was an advisor for the Morris Hills Regional Color Guard Band for 3 years, and worked as a private nanny for 3.5 years. This first hand knowledge is the reason why Sue started a Lightbridge Academy because it exemplifies those core values which she wanted to bring to this great Westfield community. Sue is onsite to open the building just about every day.
