Unwind Summer Break Club at Cope Center for Autism
A creative, flexible summer program for autistic tweens and teens
Unwind’s Summer Break Club offers a relaxed, structured experience designed for tweens and teens (ages 11-17) who benefit from creativity, movement, and connection during school breaks. Each week blends themed workshops with Unwind Hangout Time, allowing participants to explore interests, build skills, and unwind in a supportive environment.
Weekly Themed Workshops
Each week centers around a different focus area inspired by Unwind’s after-school activities. Workshops are designed to build skills gradually and end with a low-pressure final project, giving participants a sense of completion without performance expectations.
Weekly themes may include:
• Mind & Movement – Yoga-inspired movement, body awareness, and calming strategies
• Creative Tech – Beginner-friendly coding, logic games, and problem-solving challenges
• Art Studio – Mixed media art, guided projects, and open creative exploration
• LEGO & Robotics – Building challenges, design thinking, and hands-on engineering
• Mix & Match – A blend of movement, creativity, and collaborative activities
• Unwind Hangout Time
In addition to workshops, participants enjoy built-in hangout periods that encourage connection and relaxation. Teens may choose to engage in games, creative activities, quiet time, or social interaction in ways that feel comfortable for them. For more information, visit Unwind at the Cope Center.
