As The Westmont Montessori School celebrates its 50th anniversary this year—a half decade of instilling the love of learning in more than 2,000 graduates—the school is giving back to the Mendham/Chester community by offering Westmont’s 1st Steps, a free 4-week interactive educational program.

“The community has given so much to Westmont.  We are delighted to be able to give back in this meaningful way.”  Colette B. Cross, Head of School

Experienced educators will take participants through a weekly exploration of parenting topics including language acquisition, nutrition, motor skills, independence and other themes pertinent to a toddler’s growth (ages 1½ and up). Held at the school on Wednesdays, October 15, 22, 29 and November 5, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. or Noon – 1:00 p.m., this series gives parents an opportunity to explore early childhood development topics while their child works with developmentally appropriate materials.

Registration is required; space is limited.

In 1964, a group of dedicated parents and teachers made their vision of a local Montessori pre-school a reality when they opened the doors of Westmont for the very first time.
