💡 Planning Tips

Turn the trip into a literacy adventure by reading several of Fairy Tale Forest's featured stories before your visit. Ask students to look for those characters and scenes as they explore the park, then continue the experience back in the classroom with writing, drawing, sequencing, or storytelling projects.

Bus parking is available on Grove Street across from the park entrance, and free parking is available. Food and drinks can be purchased at the Gnome's Nest; the park currently does not permit outside food, so teachers should confirm meal arrangements when making their group reservation.

📖 Did You Know?

Fairy Tale Forest has deep roots in New Jersey history. Founder Paul Woehle Sr. began building the park in 1953, inspired in part by memories of his mother reading Grimm's fairy tales to her children. The storybook cottages were designed and created by Woehle with his family, and the park eventually grew to include more than 20 attractions tucked among the trees.
