As families prepare for a new school year, Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey (GSHNJ) is inviting young people in grades K–12 to discover new adventures, build lifelong friendships, and grow their confidence by joining Girl Scouts. Serving more than 13,000 youth and 8,700 adult volunteers across Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Somerset, Union, southern Warren, and parts of Middlesex counties, GSHNJ offers year-round opportunities that help young people explore their interests, develop leadership skills, and make a difference in their communities.

From camping and outdoor adventures to STEM, entrepreneurship, the arts, travel, and community service, Girl Scouts provides experiences that encourage members to try new things, embrace challenges, and discover what's possible. Whether earning badges, leading service projects, or exploring future careers, every experience is designed to help young people build skills that last a lifetime in a supportive and welcoming environment.

The council is also seeking adult volunteers to serve as troop leaders and mentors. No previous Girl Scout experience is required, just a willingness to inspire the next generation. Volunteers receive training, resources, and ongoing support while making a meaningful impact in the lives of local youth.
