Girl Scouts- Say Yes to the Dress at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum
Earn your Playing the Past merit badge at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum. The program meets all the requirements for the merit badge.
In 1825, Mary Louisa Macculloch was planning her wedding. Throughout her life, she would be a mother, philanthropist, homemaker, and community leader. In this Girl Scout program, learn about Mary Louisa’s wedding preparations and wedding traditions from the past. Participants will sketch a wedding dress, listen to music that was popular at the time, explore quotes from family letters, and make a flower crown to take home. Pretend to be Mary Louisa by writing diary entries capturing the excitement of Mary Louisa’s preparations for her special day.
Individual scouts or small troops looking to earn their Playing the Past badge are encouraged register. A Scout Leader, or another adult, is required to attend with the scout(s).
Pre-registration required by Saturday, October 31. $15 per scout; $10 per adult. Fee covers entry to the museum and all materials.
