Who We AreCTC Academy is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that provides educational and therapeutic services for students with a diverse array of developmental and physical disabilities. Through our collaborative educational and therapeutic programs as well as support services for families, we have been serving diverse learners with multiple and varying disabilities for over 65 years.
We have two campusesFair Lawn – Our Fair Lawn Campus serves students ages 18 months through 6 years of age. • Oakland – Our Oakland Campus serves students 6 through 21 years of age.
Learning ProgramThe focus of our learning program is to enhance students’ individual strengths through innovative learning techniques that promote autonomy and success. Assistive Technology is used throughout the program as both a teaching method and a tool to increase and promote communication. Program Features • Small class size • Extended school year program (July) • Toileting and Hygiene Program • Specialized nursing team headed by a New Jersey Certified School nurse and consulting physician.
At both campuses, CTC Academy provides therapeutic services based on the student’s IEP (Individual Education Program). We foster a collaborative approach enabling our students to reach their fullest potential in the school environment. All CTC Academy therapists are licensed professionals who are certified by the NJ Department of Education. Our school offers therapeutic services in: • Occupational Therapy • Physical Therapy • Speech, Language and Feeding Therapy

Our education program encompasses all grades beginning with preschool- at our Fair Lawn Campus – and follows the continuum to elementary, intermediate, middle, high school and transition years – after 12th grade through age 21 – at our Oakland Campus. CTC Academy's comprehensive curriculum includes a full day school program and a full day extended school year program through the month of July. We serve diverse learners with multiple and varying disabilities. The focus of our instruction program is to enhance students’ individual strengths while fostering innovative learning techniques that promote autonomy and success. Each student’s learning program, driven by his or her IEP (Individualized Education Program), is unique and collaboratively developed by the professional team of teachers, therapists in conjunction with the child’s parents or guardians. Various research-based curricula are utilized throughout the instruction program. Lessons as well as learning goals are aligned with the common core and state approved core curriculum content standards. Effective evidence-based teaching strategies are implemented to support multi-sensory learning and a “process not product” philosophy. Assistive Technology is infused throughout the program as both a teaching method and a tool to increase and promote communication. Our creative education program reflects our commitment to ensure that each and every student reaches his or her fullest potential.
Our Professional Staff
At both campuses, CTC Academy provides dynamic therapeutic services based on the student’s IEP (Individual Education Program). We foster a collaborative therapeutic approach that incorporates all members of the educational team,enabling our students to participate and reach their fullest potential in the school environment. All CTC Academy therapists are licensed professionals who are certified by the NJ Department of Education. Our school offers therapeutic services in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech and Language Therapy. Our school social workers provide families with community resources that can give the family practical information for day-to-day living. The social worker can assist with assessment and referrals to appropriate agencies for entitlements such as social security, Medicaid, Perform Care and The Catastrophic Illness In Children Relief Fund. Short-term counseling is also available along with referrals for individual, family and group therapy. The CTC Academy also employs a highly specialized nursing team headed by a New Jersey Certified School nurse at each campus. Our nurses are responsible for the health and safety of the students, staff and environment during school hours as well as in the community during school trips. They provide direct specialized healthcare and procedures to our students who display diverse and complex medical conditions. Our nurses also provide health related training to CTC staff members as well as provide support to individual student’s private duty nurses to ensure proper health and safety procedures are being implemented.
