Milt Hinton Institute for Studio Bass - NJPAC Arts Education

It’s all bass, all the time at the Hinton Institute

Dive into an immersive week of master classes, performances, small ensemble work, studio sessions, lectures and workshops on the Montclair State University campus. Explore jazz, classical, early music, slap, Latin and electric in a non-competitive environment. Learn from some of the planet’s best bass players on our acclaimed faculty. Trade tips and techniques with other student musicians. Find your people — the ones who inspire you, motivate you and will be your creative community for years to come. Leave at the end of the week with a greater love of music and a deeper understanding of your place within it.
