Ready for some Winter Outdoor Adventure Fun? 

Why not try your hand at Pond Skating, or sledding, or even a winter hike or zipline course?  Think out of the box for an afternoon of winter family fun!

POND SKATING IN NJ

Skating the old fashioned way - outside on a frozen pond.  There are quite a few parks that offer pond skating BUT make sure to call ahead to see if the pond is safe. NEVER skate on a pond that is not properly marked!

Tenafly Nature Canter

Skating is allowed after ice is at least 4 inches thick.  If the pond isn’t available for skating, there are also trails to hike and a visitor center

Monmouth Park System

Ice Skating is permitted when ice is frozen at Holmdel, Turkey Swamp and Shark River Parks, and the Manasquan Reservoir.  Get More Information >>

SLEDDING HILLS IN NJ

Grab your red flyer and hang on!  We’ve found some of the best sledding hills in NJ:

  3. Hopatcong State Park, Hopatcong

HIKING IN NJ

ICE FISHING IN NJ

Who says fishing is just for the summer months?  Several NJ parks allow ice fishing and now is the perfect time to lower your hook.  Here are a few spots to try your hand at this cold weather sport:
