WMC offers Early Childhood Music Classes, some of which include parent or caregiver participation, to children as young as three months old. Suzuki lessons and classes are offered for violin and cello. Children's introductory classes that explore the string family, woodwind family, and rock & roll instruments allow children to experiment with different instruments that are provided for the duration of the course.
For children, teens, or adults who want to explore a new instrument, WMC has Introductory Instrumental Group Lessons in piano, guitar, violin, cello, saxophone, flute, clarinet, and trumpet.
Musical theater classes include classes in voice, dance, and acting. "Broadway Babies" introduces 3- to 5-year-olds to the fun and magical world of musical theater. From "Broadway Kids" and "On Stage" to the advanced "Musical Theater Project" and "Actor's Studio", students learn voice, dance, and acting techniques and perform in end-of-semester musical shows and plays.
Classes in rock & roll include “The Rockshop”, “Beatle Mania”, “Rock Jam”, and “Rock Band Audition and Training”.
WMC also has a state-of-the-art recording studio and offers classes in audio recording, music and technology, and "Intro to Music for Film/TV".
WMC provides outreach programs to underserved and socially and economically challenged communities. Additionally, WMC sponsors concerts at its own Performance Hall, local libraries, and senior centers. Wharton Music Center is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization.
