Mission: Visit The Battleship New Jersey

“Experience a tour of our nation’s most decorated and largest battleship – the Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial.  Located on the Camden Waterfront, NJ. Self guided tours and specialty tours are available daily for adults, seniors, and children. Tour the overall view of the Battleship New Jersey taking guests five levels up and two decks below. You can even tour the engine room, and fire a battleship gun! Purchase tickets for tours.

FIELD TRIPS Aboard the Battleship

FOR STUDENTS FROM 4TH GRADE THROUGH COLLEGE…
The Battleship New Jersey, the nation’s most decorated battleship, is an 887-foot long, 45,000-ton living window on the most important half-century in U.S. history. Students of all ages will walk up the gangway and experience the Big J’s size-nearly three football fields long. And they can:

Take a look inside the ship’s legendary 16-inch gun turrets.
Visit the Bridge, Communications, Captain’s Cabins, and Officer’s Wardroom.
Learn about the role the “Black Dragon” played in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf.
Climb up and down the companionways.
Examine the lockers that had to hold all of a sailor’s personal belongings.
Check out the enlisted men’s bunks.

Participate in the “Main Deck” tour
Learn about the role the “Black Dragon” played in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf.

ASSEMBLIES, CLASSES, AND OUTREACH

Want the Battleship to come to your school? They can send an expert on the ship to your school to talk about her history and bring some of the ship’s artifacts to you. Each program is tailored to your school or other organization based around age of participants and your groups subject interests. Do the math to Build a Battleship, look at primary sources to hear the history from those who were there, try your hand at the science behind secret codes and much more. Every program allows students to touch pieces of the ship’s history, from uniforms to projectiles to ship equipment. Overnight Adventures Aboard the Battleship  

Families, scouts and youth organizations can experience an overnight aboard the Battleship.  Our award-winning program includes dinner. Group Tours Available 

The Battleship also offers group tour packages for students, veterans, seniors and corporation.  Guided tours allow guests to experience life aboard this floating city.  Add-on options such as onboard classes, veteran sessions, barbecues, even a USO-style show will make your group’s experience a memorable one.
